Tingo

About Tingo

Build a game. Play it in real life.

Tingo is a custom bingo game you build, share, and play together in the real world. The phone sets things up. Then you all go outside and find them.

How it works

Three steps. Zero complicated rules.

You already know how to play. The only difference is, you make the board.

1

Build a board

Pick any theme — a road trip, a backyard scavenger hunt, Thanksgiving dinner. Tell us what you're up to and a starter list of finds appears in seconds. Keep it, tweak it, or scrap it and build the whole board yourself. Whatever fits what you're actually doing.

2

Share it with your group

Send a link or scan a QR code. Everyone joins with one tap and gets their own randomized 5x5 board, drawn from your list of finds. No accounts to make. No friction.

3

Go play

Head out and start finding things. Mark them off as you spot them. See what everyone else is finding in real time. First to five in a row gets the win. Or the bragging rights. Or the bill.

Whatever you're doing

Tingo isn't one game. It's a way to make a game out of anything.

Road trips

Licence plates, weird billboards, the cow that always looks like it's posing.

Family gatherings

Holiday dinner moments, reunion bingo, who falls asleep on the couch first.

Walks and hikes

Wildflowers, dogs, street art, mailboxes with personality.

Parties

Icebreakers, themed boards, all the small chaos of the night.

Classrooms and camps

Group activities that get people moving, noticing, and laughing.

Date nights

Pick a neighbourhood, build a board, see your city differently.

Origin

How Tingo started.

One summer we took our family on a vacation to Chicago. Before we left we sat down and made a list of things we might find on the trip. Stuff we knew we'd see at the museums we were going to. Stuff we hoped we'd see. Silly things, like a dog in a stroller.

We built randomized bingo boards in a spreadsheet, printed them out, and brought a stack of those fat bingo markers. First to five in a row picked the restaurant on the last night of the trip. We called it Travel Bingo.

It was one of the best parts of the trip. The kids were watching the world. They were arguing about whether something counted. They were paying attention to a city instead of a screen. We'd done trips before. None of them looked like that one.

Tingo is what we built so anyone can do it, anywhere, with no spreadsheets and no markers.

We're Jason and Margo. We're Big Tree Little Tree. We make Tingo together.
