A garden scavenger hunt that follows what's in bloom

Visitors come for the tulips in April or the color in October, walk the main path, and miss most of what's flowering that week. A Let's Tingo board points them at it. We build a garden scavenger hunt with you, a bingo board of plants, blooms and wildlife worth finding, and your visitors play it as they walk.

Each visitor gets their own board from the same list of finds, and the first to fill five in a row calls a Tingo. Families slow down at the beds, and the quiet corner past the greenhouse finally gets people in it.

A mother, another woman and a girl in sun hats stand at a lavender field seen from behind, one of them pointing out across the rows.

How it works for your visitors

A QR code on a sign at the visitor center, on the garden map or at the start of a trail is all it takes. Visitors scan it, join in a tap, and get their board. Joining is free for them, in the app or in a browser.

Families work their way down the paths together, calling out the koi and the monarch on the milkweed, looking at the beds instead of down at a map.

A botanical garden scavenger hunt for every season

What's worth finding in May isn't there in September, and that's what makes a botanical garden scavenger hunt worth coming back for. We build the board around what's blooming now, and when the season turns, a new board can follow it: spring bulbs, then summer roses, then fall color.

We write each board with you, from your horticulture team's knowledge of what peaks when and ours of what makes a good find. The board carries your name, your colors and your logo.

A prize at the end of the path

Turn it into a sponsored game and the board ends in a prize drawing. Visitors who hit the Tingo target before the game ends are entered, they can see how many people are playing and how many have qualified, and one winner is drawn when time runs out. A membership or a voucher for the spring plant sale gives people a reason to walk every path.

Nature center events and arboretum walks

Nature centers and arboretums have the same challenge across more ground: miles of trail, and visitors who stick to the first loop. An arboretum scavenger hunt with the oldest oak, a cypress knee and a woodpecker hole on it gets people out to the far end.

For nature center events like a festival day or a bird walk weekend, a board gives every family something to do from the moment they arrive. Make it a join-any-time game, and the family that turns up at noon can jump in halfway through.

Let's build a board for your garden

Tell us about your garden or nature center: what's coming into bloom, who comes through the gate, and what you most want them to notice. We'll come back with ideas for what a Tingo board could look like on your grounds. Let's Tingo works the same way for park scavenger hunts, zoo scavenger hunts and pumpkin patch activities, and you'll find everything else we build on our partners page.
